We Are All Storytellers

Yay! Live performances are back from nearly a two year hiatus. I’ve always been enamored with the power of live performance. Last summer at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, while enjoying a shared experience with other like minded people, I realized every performance is a story. We are all storytellers we just use different mediums: songs, poetry, comedy, magazine articles (my sweet spot), novels, movies and more.

The Avett Brothers blew my mind, not just with their music, but with their thoughtful lyrics, humanity, vulnerability and stories.

I love telling other people’s stories, but haven’t figured out mine, just yet. Do you know your story and how often do you tell it? What medium do you use? I trust that when it is ready, my story will emerge. The question is if I’ll still want to write it. Maybe by then I’ll be able to learn banjo and go on tour with the Avett Brothers. I’d sure love to go back to Red Rocks.
